Evaluation is a quality assurance procedure. It is characterised by three steps: internal evaluation (self-evaluation), external evaluation (peer review) and follow-up. The evaluation serves as an instrument to eliminate any detected weaknesses, to improve exploitation of existing development potentials or to set new priorities in content. An assessment of the status quo in teaching and studies is carried out, measured against the targets of the subject under review and the quality standards for a scientifically sound course of studies (target state).
