Module descriptions and/or catalogues of modules are intended to increase transparency in modularised degree programmes. According to the general regulations for the introduction of performance credit systems and modularisation of degree programmes laid down by the KMK (Conference of Education Ministers/resolution dated 15 September 2000), the descriptions must contain the following information: content and learning outcome of the module, forms of teaching and learning, prerequisites for participation, usability of the module, prerequisites for the allocation of performance credits, as well as frequency of availability, workload and duration of each module.
