Trips for International Students


Every semester, the University offers international students trips to German cities of political, cultural and historical interest. German students are also welcome to participate; however, on some trips funding regulations limit the number of German students. The following trips will offered for the summer semester 2020:

May 2020


  • 09 May Trip to Concentration Camp Memorial Buchenwald

  • Due to the current situation regarding the Coronavirus / COVID- 19 Pandemic this event has to be cancelled!

    The Buchenwald concentration camp was one of the largest concentration camps on German soil during the National Socialist era. We will arrange an instructive and exciting project day with an informative guided tour.

    • 15 May Exploring the Harz: Iberg Dripstone Cave and Arboretum

    • Due to the current situation regarding the Coronavirus / COVID- 19 Pandemic this event has to be cancelled!

      In the middle of the Harz forest landscape is the Iberg dripstone cave, which is many millions of years old. We will explore it together with a guided tour and take a short walk through the beautiful Harz forest.

      • 23 May Borderland Museum Eichsfeld

        Due to the current situation regarding the Coronavirus / COVID- 19 Pandemic this event has to be cancelled!

        On site we will deal with the history of the East- West- German border and division from 1945 to 1990 and its social, cultural and political effects. A guided tour through the border path and the museum awaits you.

        July 2020


        • 12 July Trip to the Wildlife Park Sababurg and the world of bees
        • (Registration not yet released)

          The Sababurg wildlife park is the oldest wildlife park in Germany, which has been preserved in its original area with more than 80 animal species on an area of about 130 hectares in the middle of the Reinhard Forest. Special presentations on bees and beekeeping will also be taking place on that day.

          Please fill out the online registration form. You will receive an email informing you of your registration status. In the event you have been placed on the waiting list, you will be notified by email a few days before the trip as to whether a spot has become available.

          The pre-registration for the trip takes place online and is activated about two months in advance. The participation in the trip is obligatory after registration! If you are unable to participate in the trip for which you have already registered, please let us know as early as possible so that we may contact students on the waiting list. Failure to provide notification may prevent participation in future trips.
