Best of the year are awarded the "Florenz Sartorius Prize" in the university auditorium

With an academic ceremony on Friday, November 8, 2019, the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Göttingen bid farewell to its graduates of the summer semester 2019. The ceremony began at 2 pm in the auditorium at Wilhelmsplatz. A total of 393 students completed their studies last summer semester. Of these, 244 completed a Bachelor's degree and 149 a Master's degree.

Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Stefan Dierkes welcomed the guests. Afterwards Prof. Dr. Jörg-Markus Hitz, Chairman of the Economic Examination Committees, and Michael Stedler, representing the graduates of the summer semester, spoke. Prof. Dr. Heinz-Walter Große, former CEO of B. Braun Melsungen AG and retired in April 2019, also spoke as an alumnus of the faculty. Heinz-Walter Große completed his business administration studies in Göttingen in 1978. After his first professional positions at B. Braun, he received his doctorate in accounting from the University of Göttingen in 1988.

During the event, the "Florenz Sartorius Awards" sponsored by Sartorius AG, Göttingen, were also presented to the best graduates of the Faculty of Business and Economics in the disciplines of Business Administration, Economics, Business Information Systems as well as Business and Human Resource Education. The prizes are endowed with 1,000 euros each.

The Faculty honored Christian Lassalle (Master of Science in Finance, Accounting and Taxes), Jan Schnitker (Master of Science in Applied Statistics), Kristin Masuch and Michael Stedler (both Master of Science in Business Information Systems) as well as Wiebke Vorpahl and Max Feuerhake (both Master of Education in Business and Human Resource Education) for their outstanding academic achievements.
