Outstanding Publications at the Chair of Marketing and Innovation Management

The article "Building and Leveraging Sports Brands: Evidence from 50 Years of German Professional Soccer", authored by Stefan Hattula, Maik Hammerschmidt (Chair of Marketing and Innovation Management) und Harald J. van Heerde has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Sheth Foundation Best Paper Award 2018. The paper, published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, shows how sports brands are built over time and what makes the market performance of some brands so much stronger than others.

Prof. Dr. Maik Hammerschmidt also ranks 71st out of a total of 3390 participating economists in the German-speaking region in the business administration research ranking of the magazine "WirtschaftsWoche" in the category "Publications in leading journals" (A and A+ Journals).

The ranking includes all researchers in the field of business administration who work at Chairs, Fraunhofer Institutes or Max Planck Institutes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (including post-docs and junior professors). The data source is the bibliometric web portal Forschungsmonitoring.org. It is operated by the Economic Research Institute KOF at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich with the support of the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE).
