Legal framework
The responsibilities of universities include the obligation to meet the special needs of students with disabilities. This implies that study and examination regulations must provide adequate conditions also for students with disabilities and chronic diseases.
For Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes:
The General Examination Regulations of Göttingen University [last amended on 12 November 2010 (Official Announcement No. 39)] contains regulations with various content and expressed in different ways concerning compensation of disadvantages (Article 21, Protection provisions) and on participation in courses (Article 14, Paragraph 5, Access and admission to modules and examination components).Law (State examination/ 1st examination):
For studies of law (State examination/ 1st examination), the following regulations include provisions for compensation of disadvantages:- Regulations for examinations in the area of specialisation [last amended on 05 October 2012]
- Regulations for course-related intermediate examinations [last amended on 22 April 2010]
Medicine (State examination):
The provisions for compensation of disadvantages in human medicine and dentistry are contained in the valid licensing regulations:- Regulations for the licensing of medical doctors (ÄAppO)
