Open Educational Resources

As part of the liveSciences³ project we actively contributed to an open teaching and learning culture:

First, liveSciecens³ encouraged and supported educators and students to use and produce open educational material, including Joint Digital Learning Material and Student-Generated Content.

Training and workshops (train-the-trainer events and qualification workshops) about the production and use of OER were offered to educators and the topic was addressed during Community of Practice meetings.

Resources were published to support the production of OER and embedded in the services of Digital Learning and Teaching Team of Student and Academic Services at University of Göttingen and liveSciences³ partner universities. Producing OER across disciplines and together with partner universities actively and substantially strengthened international cooperation, within the Life Sciences network and beyond.

Second, liveSciences³ developed a OER Policy and Factsheet to guide the development and use of OER at the University of Göttingen to promote access to free knowledge as well as open exchange among educators both within the university and across disciplines and universities. The OER factsheet was developed together with experts from twillo.

Educational Resources developed within the liveSciences³ project are available as Open Educational Resources (OER) at the OER portal of Lower Saxony Twillo. More liveSciences³ videos, including Joint Digital Learning Material and Student-Generated Content, are published at the liveSciences³ playlist at the YouTube channel of the University of Göttingen.

R Wiki

As part of the liveSciences³ project, a wiki was created together with lecturers from the life sciences, in which information on university-internal and publicly accessible statistics courses, learning and teaching materials, data sets and helpful resources on statistics in R can be collected, exchanged and further developed. Find out more under R & Statistics Wiki.

Further OER courses at the University of Göttingen are listed on the websites of the Digital Learning and Teaching Team.
